ABOUT THE SCHOOL
The elementary years of children are extremely important as the exposure and experiences open to them creates a near unmovable foundation for all future learning.  It is an extremely busy and exciting time for all children and their parents and thus choosing the right school for children is a paramount decision all parents need to make.

Starling school in itself is a serene, comfortable, resourceful and fun filled, infant and primary tutelage for pupils between age 1-11year.  Our parents and visitors are always enthralled by the general ambience and peaceful atmosphere which provides a pleasant and well structured learning environment for our pupils.  Thus, highlighted in this prospectus are the characteristics that make our school unique and well equipped for your children’s education.  Here in starling school, we use all standardized, tested, creative and spontaneous teaching methods to ensure a desirable, success oriented education for our pupils.  Learning is seen as pleasurable as play as we believe that in the formative years of children, it is essential to make education enjoyable alongside teaching the rudimentary discipline and adherence to values of success.

We make bold to say that we impart our children with dependable knowledge to help them navigate through life thus producing versatile and first rate scholars with world class education as we groom stars for excellence.  This is achieved through the richness of a balanced and broad-based curriculum.  We are truly proud of our school and the high standard that our children are able to achieve in all curriculum areas.

We believe that the whole objective of education is to develop the mind and set in place, values that would guide our children through life.  Thus, we run an open door policy and would be honoured by your visit to see and learn about our school.

It has become a truism that to have a clear vision is to know where to stand and what to stand for because unless we stand for something, we shall fall for anything.  It is therefore essential to acknowledge that the vision of Mrs. P. Olloh, who has always had the passion to teach children, led to the establishment of Starling School in September, 2003.

Besides the broad-based curriculum used, she deeply believes that children should be taught to have a good knowledge and healthy regard for the culture and traditions of their home country. This is the Hidden Curriculum that refers to the transmission of norms, values and beliefs conveyed in both the formal educational content and the social interaction within the school.

At Starling school, pupils are groomed and encouraged to be confident, bold and independent without the teacher’s continuous assistance -this we believe is the objective of learning. Emphasis is also placed on the acquisition and development of a healthy self-esteem which is a necessary prerogative throughout life. As a result of this pedagogical prowess shown by her pupils, Starling school has won many awards in the field of education.
